It’s not that often you come across a phenomenal scuba diving destination that you can take your whole family to secure in the knowledge that while you are away enjoying your hobby, they will be ashore having the time of their lives. Roses on the Costa Brava is precisely that location.
Your base here at Fleet HQ is idyllic in its’ location situated as it is on the banks of the canals. A more pleasant location to sit and relax on the terrace would be hard to imagine, the only traffic noise likely to be the odd passing vessel. It has often been described as the “modern day Venice”. Once you leave the house
you will find all local amenities close to hand from Supermarkets to Bars and Restaurants. Having settled in to this 3 bedroomed luxury fisherman’s cottage you can begin to explore the surroundings and there is much to behold!
Whatever your tastes you can experience Catalan culture beginning with the Dali Museum and the greatest cuisine on the planet with the world’s ranked number one restaurant only a short drive away.
Thrill seekers may wish to try out skydiving at “Sky dive Empuriabrava” just a few kilometers away. If the act of jumping from an aeroplane fills you with dread you could take the safer option & simulate the experience in the wind tunnel at “Windoor”. In any case both locations have great restaurant bars with views of others enjoying the experience. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon in the sun! We also have the usual Karting tracks and some very challenging mountain bike routes.
Water babies will be delighted with the facilities on offer here. Apart from the Scuba diving there are some great snorkeling sites. On the beach you will find companies who offer sailing boats, windsurfing and kite-surfing equipment for rent and indeed in Roses there is a very active sailing club offering instruction too. Still water connected – if it’s just a blast you are looking for, for the whole family young and old, then we have “Aquabrava”, a water-park which in its’ own way rivals the best that Orlando has to offer!
Slowing the pace down a little, if it’s wandering around the grass looking for a little white ball that does it for you, then we have some fantastic world class golf courses including the one at Perelada. On the subject of Perelada, this region makes some fantastic wines and the vineyard is open to the Public for tours and wine tasting. There is a Casino there also if you dare!
Finally, if it’s peace and tranquility you seek then here it is! Roses boasts some fine bars and restaurants lining the several kilometers of white sand beach front, the perfect location for a relaxing drink after a long day. The wide, family safe, promenade stretches all the way from Santa Margarita to Roses itself and takes around half an hour’s gentle stroll to complete. Why not enhance the experience of relaxation on the beach with a Thai massage?
